New Year in Edinburgh

Happy New Year everyone!! can't believe it is 2015 already, hope you all had a great christmas and new year. Christmas for me this year was really different as it was the first year spending it in my own flat and not with my family. However, it turned out amazing and I got completely spoiled! Im smiling away at the fact I am writing this post on my mac laptop and I got an iPhone 6. I was so shocked and surprised when I opened my laptop I started crying! For New Year and my birthday we also went through to Edinburgh which was such an amazing experience. We arrived on the Tuesday night and were staying at The Holiday Inn city west. The hotel was about 15mins on a bus from the city centre which was the only downfall. The staff in the hotel couldn't be more helpful and polite when we needed anything. They even cleaned all my fingers and bandaged them up after they got stuck in a portaloo toilet haha!

For new years eve we got tickets for the street party which included passes to the front of the main stage which Lily Allen was performing at. For the most part our time there was spent sightseeing, walking around the christmas markets, drinking champagne and over indulging in too much food.

On the 3rd it was my birthday and as I had never been to a pantomine I had wanted to go and see the show Wicked however it was completely sold out. Instead we went for lunch, drinks then went to see Aladdin at The Kings Theatre which was so good, I literally laughed the whole way through.

I Loved spending my new year in Edinburgh and would 100% recommend anyone considering it for next year, my only advice would be book your accommodation quite a while before you go as it is impossible to get somewhere at a reasonable price as it is so popular.

What about you guys? Where has been the best place you have experienced for New Year?
